WEARING COMPOUND
This advanced material for armor surfacing all areas where solids or slurries cause abrasion is a unique composite of Nordbak Epoxy Resin, sapphire hard alumina ceramic beads, and silicon carbide. The beads take the abrasive wear. They are held securely in suspension, and to the surface to be treated, by the Epoxy Resin.
The trowelable material is easy to mix and apply on any surface and will conform to any shape such as cones, elbows, and other curved surfaces. Nordbak Wearing Compound cures fast and will have previously worn surfaces back in service quickly.
Following are specific benefits of Nordbak Wearing Compound which Maintenance Engineers welcome.
Laboratory tests, as noted on the following page, show that Nordbak Wearing Compound is eight times more abrasive resistant than Ni-Hard iron – approaching that of ceramic tile. This means that Wearing Compound can be used in combination with ceramic tile, possibly eliminating the need for costly custom shapes. Wearing Compound is chemically resistant to water solvents, most acids, and basic materials. It also acts are a corrosion inhibiting coating to arrest rusting.
FEATURE BENEFIT
Just Mix and Trowel Save downtime, Armor surfacing can be completed during normal maintenance shutdown without loss of production.
Quickly Conforms to Desired Shape Save labor and time. Permits repairs usually without replacement of wear parts.
Sapphire Hard Extended wear life reduces maintenance frequency and need for extensive wear parts inventory.
Easy, Fast, Safe to Apply Labor and material costs are further reduced by comparison to rubber or tile linings. No special skills are required for application.
