Symons cone crushers
The Symons Standard cone crusher is normally applied as a secondary crusher in plants designed for three or four stages of crushing. However, the wide range of crushing cavities available in the Standard cone crusher permits its installation as a primary crusher in many cases. The feed openings available range from over 18” in the 7 Ft. crusher size to 4” in the 2 Ft. Standard. The Standard cone usually operates in an open circuit, preparing feed for the finishing crushing stages where Short Head cones and Gyradisc crushers are employed. The normal operating, according to Operating Recommendations, range for the Standard cone is to make a crushed product ranging from approximately ¾” to 3” or 4”. It is considered sound crushing practice to effect a reduction ratio of 6 or 8:1 when operating in open circuit. Standard cones may also be operated in a closed circuit in large or small operations where a single reduction is required. Because of the wide range of cavities available feed sizes up to 12” can be reduced in some cases to all passing ¾” in a properly designed closed circuit.
Standard cone crushers are built in seven sizes with crushing heads from two to ten feet diameter. Capacities in open circuit range from 18 to over 3000 tph depending on the characteristics of the material being crushed, crusher size and setting, and crushing cavity design.
