Results in laboratory test and pilot level with Cu-Pb-Zn polymetallic ores.

EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION.

1. Taken from: C.J. Martin, et. al. [4]. It is shown two flotation test for the same ore.

In Fig. 2 up till the end of pyrite rougher flotation and Fig. 3 till the end of bulk flotation the results are similar, indicating good test reproducibility. After this stage nitrogen promoted flotation of a pyrite concentrate while air produced not significant flotation. The recovery of pyrite to the ensuing zinc concentrate fell by 50% as a result of the prior pyrite flotation in nitrogen.

Fig. 4 presents the zinc rougher grade/recovery profile. It shows that zinc rougher grades are 5-10% higher at recoveries up to 55% after pyrite flotation in nitrogen.

Ore: Kidd Creek Mines. Galena 1%, Sphalerite 14%, Chalcopyrite 12%, Pyrite 45%.

Tests were done in plant taking tails from Pb-Cu flotation circuit. Two kinds of tests were executed with air and nitrogen. Column cells were used during the tests.

Clearly is shown that nitrogen improves iron flotation.
