RECOVERING FREE GOLD BY FLOTATION
This sample must be crushed in a laboratory jaw crusher and cone crusher and ten 1000 g portions have to be taken for the testwork program. The chemical analysis gave a calculated head of 11.5 g/t gold, 0.27% copper and 0.25% lead.
In order to observe free gold, one sample was carefully panned to assess the free gold content. The product in this case consists of a mix of sulphides that host some part of the gold. The tails from panning didn’t show free gold.
The flotation test was carried out at the natural pH of 7.9 in a Denver D12 laboratory flotation machine with the following reagents: 150 g/t PAX and 20 g/t MIBC. Kinetics tests were done in order to find out the amenability of the ore during a flotation process.
