Surface mines are less hazardous and can be maneuvered around more easily than subsurface mines.
Lode deposits of metals or minerals are where the desired metal or mineral is found imbedded deep in the veins of other rocks. The rock therefore needs to be extracted, crushed and blasted in reactors and mills before the processing of the metal can even begin. Placer mines are much simpler in comparison. The desired mineral is most often found mixed in with sand or gravel at surface levels of the earth, or in the beds of creeks, streams and rivers. Therefore some sluice boxes, metal detectors, pans and washers are all that is needed to find and remove minerals from placer mines.
All mines face health and safety hazards, and mining equipment is needed to reduce such risks. Refrigerators of a special kind keep the heat generated down by cooling the air that the miners work in. to reduce the risk of suffering from silica, a disease where dust from mines settle into the lungs of workers, the dust that constantly forms as a result of mining processes has to be wetted down with special equipment. Ventilators are needed to keep the air new and circulating to make working conditions bearable.
Choosing mining equipment suppliers in Europe must be done with much analysis. The supplier has to be able to customize machinery to fit the client’s requirements. The company needs to have not only the reliable equipment, but also extensive knowledge on them to provide guidance and assistance whenever it may be required. They need to be informed and updated on new regulations or techniques with regard to mining.
