The above capacity tables list the most common Marcy ball mill sized. Capacities are based on medium hard ore with mill operating in closed circuit under wet grinding conditions. To construct these tables. Mine and Smelter first gathered comparative data from operations of overflow and grate mills of the same size. From analysis of this data, the empirical relation used for these tables was derived. For dry grinding, speeds are reduced and capacities dropped between 30% to 50%.
