End Peripheral Discharge Mill
The end peripheral discharge mills steeper gradient provides a shorter retention time and coarser product than the open-end discharge type rod mill. The same principles explained in the previous section regarding the advantages of a pulp gradient apply here, even more so. Pulp is discharged through port openings equally spaces around the periphery between the shell and discharge end. Grinding may be accomplished wet or dry. No other mill is as well adapted to grinding materials to the – 4 mesh to – 8 mesh range with a minimum production of fines. Reduction ratios, to 8.1.
