Crusher Electrical Lockout
The electrical power source for any Crusher should be locked out whenever anyone is working on it. Each maintenance man who normally works on the machine should be provided with his own personal padlock with only one key. When he works on any assembly he should use the padlock to lock out the electrical controls. It is most important that only one key be provided for the lock and that key must be in the pocket of the person who is performing the repair work. If more than one person works on the machine, each should have his own lock and key at separate lockout stations for the machine controls. Accidental start-up of equipment with men in the immediate area can cause an accident on what was supposedly a “clear” machine.
